YOLA-NORTH PDP STAKEHOLDERS COMMEND GOV. FINTIRI, CONGRATULATE AWWAL TUKUR, AMOS AND ARDO

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Yola-North Critical Stakeholders’ Forum has applauded and appreciated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the appointment of Awwal D. Tukur as new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Edgar Amos as the new Chief of Staff and Shehu Isa Ardo as the new Head of Service, Adamawa state

The stakeholders said- they are highly excited with the appointment of Awwal Tukur as the new SSG despite the fact he is from Yola-South but a resident of Jimeta, they said the appointment of Awwal is a welcome step to assist Yola-North PDP to put its house in order, noting that both Yola-North and Yola-South are the same politically, culturally and socially.

The stakeholders lamented that the former SSG Bashir Ahmad has immensely contributed to putting the PDP Yola-North in disorder and disarray; which resulted in the party’s poor performance in the 2023 governorship election. They asserted that Bashir’s actions and inaction also contributed to putting Governor Fintiri’s administration in a bad light in Yola-North, despite the massive infrastructure sited in the local government area and the appointment of some of its citizens by the Fintiri administration. The stakeholders further reiterated that Bashir’s four years as SSG only fueled discontent, and disrespect, including the creation of unnecessary enemies for both the government and the PDP as a party.

The stakeholders said the replacement of Bashir by Awwal is a welcome development and a relief to the Yola-North PDP and its members, as Bashir became a tool in creating misunderstanding among the party’s members, encouraging anti-party and denying legitimate hardworking party members their rights, while taking advantage of his position to put his cronies ahead of genuine party members.

According to the statement released by the stakeholders – the replacement of Bashir and the coming onboard of Awwal Tukur is the beginning of the work to reposition Yola-North PDP as the ‘moles’ in its house are no more there. The stakeholders also called on Governor Fintiri to accord them the necessary support as they intend to thoroughly clean the Yola-North PDP and restore it to its former status before the 2019 elections, which propelled the party to perform excellently in the 2019 governorships election.

The Stakeholders re-stated their unalloyed loyalty and 100% support to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and his administration and also said that, as part of their many programs to appreciate Governor Fintiri and offer their support- Yola-North PDP will be shining example in the state

Furthermore, the stakeholders said as part of their broader plans to restore Yola-North PDP to its strong position as in the past, they are requesting Governor Fintiri to reject any person whose name appeared in the Yola-North best eleven list, but was engaged in any form anti-party. They said, henceforth, any person who engages in any form of anti-party will not be part of the PDP family. They further reconfirmed that the dismissal of Bashir Ahmad from the Yola-North PDP Critical Stakeholders’ Forum, still stands.

The stakeholders’ statement ended with more appreciation to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri- saying the appointment of the trio- Awwal D. Tukur Dr. Edgar Amos, and Shehu Isa Ardo was based on merit, competency, and unbiased political representation – they are square pegs in square holes. The PDP Yola-North Stakeholders’ Forum described Awwal D, Tukur, Dr. Amos and Isa Ardo as urbane, well-educated, and well-cultured, who will enjoy 100% support from Yola North to discharge their duties to assist Governor Fintiri to implement all his masses-oriented program project and policies
